Dr. Lien González Pérez
Biography
Lien González Pérez holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Faculty of Biology, University of Havana, Cuba (1992) and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from the Agrarian University of Havana, Cuba (2000). Dr. González is currently the Research and Community Outreach Director at Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA), Ecuador, and most recently served as Director of the Scientific Planning Unit at the Center for Research on Health in Latin America (CISeAL), at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE), Quito, Ecuador (2018-2023). She has also served as a faculty member in the Faculty of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences and as Director of the Center for Research, Studies, and Development of Engineering (CIEDI) at UDLA (2012-2016), and as Associate Professor and Department Head of Plant Biology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Havana, Havana City, Cuba (2007-2010).
Research summary
Dr. Lien González research experience and interests lie in the field of plant molecular biology and biotechnology, plant pathology, and plant biostimulants. In the last 15 years, her work has been focused on the modes of action of oligosaccharins from natural sources as plant biostimulants and on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the cellular response to biostimulants in a variety of biotic and abiotic challenges.
